Hi Folks, Just a hint on the avatars. Size them as square images 100x100 pixels per side. Higher resolutions should give a "slighty better" quality image..

It says something resillient about the topic and the people who cherish it so much, that they come back for a fresh start.  This will work.  We all can make this work.

Do you guys want and/or see a need for bigger avatars?  I just realized they can be as big or small as I want to allow.  I don't want to make it a free-for-all as far as size goes, but I am open to allowing larger avatars.  Anyone remember what size we had at theLIRR.com?

I wouldn't mind a little larger, as my avatar, which was fine on LIRR.com now appears squashed.

And there's nothing worse than a squashed G5s!!!

We don't need TOO big.  It's not necessary to count the rivets on the smokebox!  :-)

There was no limit.  I accidentally put up the wrong picture for my avatar and it was 3072 X 2304.

Kuzzel:

I was in the process of answering your PM at LIRR.com when it finally came back up (momentarily) and by the time I had finished, the site went dead.

You don't have an e-mail or PM listed here, so contact me so I can send you the e-mail.

Dave yours is 130 x 82...

I would like to see 130 or 150 wide.

Dave:

To send someone a PM, click on the little scroll undearneath the avatar.  Also, I am going to set avatars to 200x200, that should do the trick.

I think the real issue is the dementions of the avatar with respect to the highth and width ratio.I think the ratio should be 1.2:1 or something like that. My avatar looks like the Brain got squished by the moon when he used a giant magnet to bring the moon closer to the earth so he could take over the world when everybidy got moon struck.

Ok, I will impose no limit on avatar size - size them however you want.  That said, I will reserve the right to reduce the size of any oversize avatars (i.e. any avatars that alter the size of board such that one has to scroll sideways to see all the text).

Good move, thanks! Smiley
