Richard,

Let us know when you might have a weekend this summer to come down from Maine and roll a roller.  We'd love to have you lend a hand.  We have four cars we plan to have primed by Railroad Festival and painted grey by the end of the Fall.  It would be good to see ya!

What do you mean?

BTW- the more people the faster we get to the orginal paint and we can move on to something else.

Anthony
Why, that's what commuters are doing when waiting for a train!
All seriousness aside, I take that as a "YES!"

I think the priming may be finished by the Railfest.

Being only 2 people are working on it there is a reason not to work every week. This week we could not paint beacuse the other guy is in Canada, last week it was because I was at Railcamp, it goes on and on. Next week is the chicken BBQ so another not to paint. I REALLY WANT TO CONTINUE but things keep coming up. If we don't contiune this week I plan to atleast clean the M-1's insides with soap and water(seats and floors)

If I could get one trusste or someone else bigger then me at the museum I will contine. My problem is I have no way to get the paint.

Anthony

Good luck...

Wow!  Great shop work at HVRM!  That's the way they all should look when shopped!

BTW, Don, my plans to come down and work at the Museum this summer have been shorted out due to a death in my immediate family.  I have been settling the estate and dealing with the other issues at hand.  This is not a "cop-out", just a fact of life.  Hopefully you guys will be able to assemble enough of a crew to finish the job.

The half that's left, that is! lol!

Moving right along, here's one from LIRR Agent-Retired. He tells me:

Here is a photo of ex-LIRR P-72 coaches in Tavares, FL on the Orlando & Mt. Dora tourist railroad.  They are no longer there, I don't know where they went.  I took this photo in March, 2002.

Fairly certain the 2970 went to the San Luis and Rio Grande in Colorado, will dig through my pictures to see if it was one of those.

EDIT: Not my own picture, but 2970 is confirmed to have been at the SLRG, likely those other P72s went there as well; not sure if it's still located there or not, I heard the SLRG got rid of a number of their P72s since I'd been there.  Looks like the coach was never repainted after being on the previous tourist railroad - looking to the left of the "San" lettering on the coach, the "Or" in Orlando is still visible.
