While out of my era, they are sweet. Had two of them running at the HOTrack setup at the Cradle of Aviation today. Willis only had non-sound units left.

If you can't find one of these at Willis or Trainland, Dave's Custom Trains in Islip Terrace has them. Dave's a member of LIST-NRHS and had a bunch last week.

If nothing else, look on eBay.  There are a bunch and prices are not too bad.  In fact, there are so many that my eBay search is almost worthless because it returns so many 420s (ho and N) that I can't see much else.

I've waited for some 25 years for these engines to be made affordable. And the wait was so worth it! Atlas did a great job on these. I have both a sound version and non sound version. The sounds are just fantastic, it’s like I’m standing on the platform in Babylon just admiring these magnificent machines.
I have one question though, (and I’m embarrassed to ask as I should know) which type of antenna is correct and where is it’s placement? Thanks.

What size drill bit to use for the horn and smoke defectors on the C 420?

All of those holes are drilled already. All you need to do is test fit them before glueing the items in, might have some paint in them.

On my C420, the holes aren't wide enough for the parts to fit into.  They have to be reamed out just a bit to get the smoke deflector and horn into place.

Thats standard fare for Atlas stuff lately, I had to take the reamer to my SD-35's if I ever wanted a hope of fitting the handrails on.

These will do for now!
That's why you have to test fit the parts.

Just bought the second to last model in the hobby store in Bay Shore.  Love it so far, just gotta deal with the holes for the horn.
