Hi everyone, been checking out the site for a while and decided to join up. Seems like a very nice bunch of people here with tons of knowledge. I have been interested in the LIRR since i was a child, taking trips with my mother to visit family on the island when we lived in Brooklyn. I can still remember looking out the rfw on the M1's seeing the C420's lined up at Richmond hill before we went underground at Atlantic Ave.
I have been a daily commuter for the past 13 years and have met some really great crewmembers, some of whom will always stop for a nice conversation whenever i see them. Thats about it for now, looking forward to meeting some of you, and i'm sure i'll have plenty of questions.

Welcome! Any and all of your observations and memories are also most welcome here. And of course, any questions/problems, don't hesitate to let me know.
On what line do you currently commute? I'm a West Hempstead>Hunterspoint Ave guy myself.
Cheers, Kyle

Hi Kyle, commuting from Huntington to Penn most of the time. Every once in a while Northport to Hunterspoint. Sorry, in my initial post i meant to say C420's lined up at Morris Park instead of Richmond Hill.

Thank You for the warm welcome! Have checked out the gallery before, some really awesome images, i'm going to try and start taking some photos of the railroad myself. I have actually been into photography since high school and actually went to college for it, but can't wait to try my hand at railroad photography. If anyone would like to get together and shoot sometime, just let me know. John D.

John, being a veteran in the railfanning business, it is good to see someone like you aboard to share your thoughts in a never-ending philosophy mean of railfanning, so welcome aboard. And yes, there are plenty of us aboard, and for one, I'm not just LIRR in my photography, I used to when I started, and now I go all over the place when the time permits.
