I've been out of scale modeling for a few years now.   The last sets I got were teh O gauge Greenport Scoot, the 4 pax cars and Gabreski Loco made by K-Line/MTH.

Since I have been absent, what new has popped up in the last 10 years in HO or O?   I may start modeling again once we complete a move to a bigger home!

THank you!

In the last ten years or so in O gauge 3 rail, Lionel has done a C-420, Atlas did an RS-i in both gray with orange ends and the World's Fair scheme.  MTH did an RS-3 in the World's Fair scheme and two S-2;s one powered and a dummy.  MTH also did a four car set of MP-54s in Tuscan.  They also did an RDC set which they recently reissued.  The RDC set has a RDC-1 and a RDC-3 which the LIRR did not have, the LI had an RDC-2
In HO there is a C-420 an RS-1 and RS-3, an H16-44, and a C-Liner also an S-2.  I don't remember the manufacturer of the models.  Also available was B-60 baggage car, an ex RDG coach and the heavy weight Parlor cars.  Recently issued were some P-54 coaches in Tuscan.  LIST-NRHS did a brass caboose [hack] in both the orange scheme and one in MTA yellow.  Hope this is of some help.

Perhaps we all can chime in here and build the listing?

As a start go to Atlas http://www.atlasrr.com/ and review their LIRR model production.

Best,
Steve

Almost every diesel is available (OK,not every variation, but pretty much everything else).  In addition to the above there is a Baldwin DS 4-4-1000 (#450), FM C-Liners and EMD GP-38.  Also available in non-LIRR colors is the GE 44 ton, a GE 25-ton kit and an Alco RS-2.

Checkout the following for kits of virtually every passenger car:

When I started in the hobby in the 1960s all you had was the Hobbytown of Boston Alco RS-3 (damn thing could pull!), an MP-54 from Penn Line and Walthers(?), and some Penn Line stuff.  Everything needed to be painted in LIRR colors.  Some difference, huh?

Forget those recent Atlas LIRR hacks-- dead wrong but they do look nice--too bad.
Bowser's N-5's are accurate.

LIST-NRHS did a brass caboose [hack] in both the orange scheme and one in MTA yellow.
The last one sold a few months ago.

Funaro and Camerlengo.  I have a kit of their P72s that I will attempt to put together soon.

But both the Walthers and Altas sites were really bad in terms of search engine, hence my starting this thread.

Thanks for the input.

Hint on the F&C kits....  when removing the window flash use a sharp hobby knife, not a file.  That's from Sharon Camerlengo.  I've built one of the P72s (got a bunch more to do), and it came out very nice.  I strongly suggest buying the IHC 4241 trucks. They are not easy to find, a bit pricey, but gorgeous!
