Unless you model the C&O like me (I got a dozen of these guys) or the South Shore, none of these other roads are accurate.

For what it's worth, Being that they are made under the "Trainman" line of Atlas products, Being "prototypical" both road name specific and detail specific would be out of the question.
The whole Idea of the "Trainman" line it affordability/a little above basic details for the average/non rivet counting modeler.  It's geared toward those who are not afraid to have some imagination in their train layouts, equipment and operation.
For those rivet counters. I suggest find a huge mega warehouse and build a huge mega "exact-scale" model right down to the ballast!!!  That would be cool!!
These are model/toy trains, why not have some fun with some of these freedoms.
PS. Maybe Atlas can do a P72 and make them in "fictional" roads just for sales!!!! Grin

I've got the earlier #1 & #5 models. I agree with Block Limit, they looks nice rolling around the club layout. We're freelanced so anything goes and they run great. Plus in the bright orange paint job they work well at bugging the guys who give me a hard time for running Long Island equipment, prototypical or not  Smiley

I know plenty of "Rivet counters" who have modest sized home layouts who capture the look of a prototypical area. Go look up Dave Ramos or Vince Lees layouts if you don't believe me, especially Vinces.

Actually the C&O hacks are exact matches for the prototype they are modeled after, and do not need any as delivered details added.

Prototype modeling is not a dirty word and with a little effort it's pretty easy, I mean it's MODEL railroading not buy-and-run right?
