Evening Folks!

Rather then doing my usual weekly updates, they will now be featured on our website, at the Railroad Museum of Long Island. There is a lot of work going on this year, with a lot of different equipment, so make sure to take a look every few weeks to see what is going on. I'll still make these posts here so you know to look!

How will the weekend LIRR service cut impact the museum?  Will there be a significant loss in revenue from lack of visitors, or do admission fees not account for much in the grand scale of things?

From what they said the cuts will take place in the winter, and not the summer.  Summer weekends won't be impacted, so nothing will hurt revenues.  Remember that we at the Museum are not for profit, so we don't necessarilly have to worry about revenues, although extra cash does help in restorations, etc.

IDK about cuts, sounds like they are buying 12 DMU's for out east. That would be nice, having more then 2 trains a day, and more then 1 that will be somewhat useful.

But, I would hate to see no trains, then people could not tour our Greenport site. I don't think it would afftect profit as much as it would attendance to our Greenport site. I think it would be fair to say folks buy what they are going to buy in Riverhead, along with admission. But we do need the money to pay the incurance and keep the lights on.
