Smooth move, a few more inches and Sir Buffington Buff of Buffham would have been minced meat.

One thing I noticed though, half the toads who hang out trackside here with cameras can't hold themselves and the camera steady from a safe location, this guy remained rock stiff even with a train 12 inches from his face/camera, I guess it's just that English discipline.

DTA: This video was on the Jay Leno show last night (May 18th) in a segment called "Hit or Miss?"
They showed the video at first and stopped it just short and then asked that question and then showed the entire length showing how close a call this actually was!

I can see why those standing on the platform were distracted by the sound of the train leaving as well as the smoke-which blocked the view a little. It pays to pay attention out there at trackside-I would not be surprised
if it scared the daylights out of that second train's operator and it is a good thing that photographer was not standing any closer...
